According to Italy's Corriere della Sera, Pogba tested positive for a banned substance in a post-match doping test.
The former Manchester United midfielder has 3 days to respond to the allegations and must provide an analysis to refute the results. In the meantime, he has been temporarily suspended by the Italian anti-doping agency, according to The Athletic.
Doping control taking place after each match is common in most of Europe's top leagues. Pogba actually played against Bologna and Empoli before the French international's tests confirmed the presence of traces of testosterone.
According to journalist Colin Millar, if Pogba is found guilty, a doping ban in Serie A could lead to a suspension lasting from 2 to 4 years, putting the 30-year-old player in serious trouble.
It will mark the final chapter in what have been turbulent years for the Frenchman.
Pogba announced earlier this week that he was considering retiring amid allegations of a blackmail plot against him, also involving his brother Mathias.
He has also struggled to return to fitness and has made just 12 appearances for Juventus since returning to the club from United in 2022.
